How To Tie Dye Leather?

I'm working on making some leather clutches and wanted to know if anyone has any experience in tie dyeing leather...

I can't seem to find any tutorials or tips online. Hopefully someone has some experience/knowledge!I've attached a few samples of the look I'm trying to achieve.

There really doesn't seem to be much on the topic out there. It clearly is being done, but maybe because it doesn't differ to greatly from tie dyeing fabric that people aren't putting up tutorials on it.

I did find one place that gave some general information that was leather specific, though.

There was a small article in the Rawhide Gazette that covered Shibouri (japanese tie dye) you can find it here http://www.pslac.org...dex_rawhide.htm in the November 2004 pdf. I only remember because someone else asked about it awhile ago.
