Members deborah195412 Posted May 24, 2013 Members Report Posted May 24, 2013 I am sewing 3.5-4 oz garment leather the maximum layer thickness would be 3/16 - 1/4 inch. Will the 15-91 handle a job like this until I can afford to get an industrial machine. A neighbor has a nice 15-91 she will let me have for $100. I would appreciate any input from people that have used a 15-91. Thanks. Quote
Members DoubleC Posted May 24, 2013 Members Report Posted May 24, 2013 I have a 15.91 I wouldn't trade for anything. I do all my wallet interiors with it, edge binding, and have also sewn lining on the back of guitar straps with it. Unless you're going into the saddle business it's a great machine and will use #69 thread which makes things look more profession and stronger. The only problem is it's so fast. But I took a thick piece of leather and stuck in the foot so it can't go all the way down if I forget to watch my foot. Of course a servo motor is a bit better option Cheryl Quote http://www.etsy.com/shop/DoubleCCowgirl
