stef73433 Report post Posted June 22, 2013 what is the process for stamping on rough out? I assume it must be a little different then stamping the grain side?
LNLeather Report post Posted June 22, 2013 (edited) I used to have this problem too – when making coasters. I tried to use my makers stamp but I found that the process of stamping the makers stamp on the rough side would show through on the grain side – and I didn’t like that. What I did to solve that problem was to buy a rubber stamp from theStampmaker.com. I use this on the backs of all my coasters and anything that is not lined. stamp design stamp used on rough side leather I"ll be interested to hear what others do to solve the problem I hope this helps... PcCowboy Report post Posted June 22, 2013 Make sure you use buff rough out leather. The stamping will stand out a whole lot nicer than nappy leather. Make sure that you case the leather well. If it is to wet the image of the stamp work will show on the other side. Here is an example of a pair of rough out fenders that was stamped.
