electrathon Report post Posted June 23, 2013 Thank you. These are the first set that I have made. I took a class on shoe making and walked out with the set. I am hoping to make a few more pair in the next months.

Northmount Report post Posted June 23, 2013 Fantastic job. I used to stand and watch a cobbler for hours when I was a young kid. Loved the smell of the shop. When we went into town, I'd usually go watch old Joe. My parents knew where to find me when it was time to go home. Keep up the good work. Tom

SkullCanyon Report post Posted June 25, 2013 I can also recommend Bonney and Wills in Ashland, Oregon. Bill Shanor is a true craftsman and a heck of a guy. They teach all types of shoe design and construction.

electrathon Report post Posted June 25, 2013 Thank you to everyone. I am already working on the patterns to make another set and do some tweaks on them. Wearing them at work and they almost got a bad initiation working on a poo lift station that has failed pumps in it. They survived though and luckly did not take a bath in it (very close though, it was a bad situation). Aaron
Oakley Report post Posted June 26, 2013 They look great. I know how much work it is to get a pair like that. I did my first one a few months ago. Can you post a picture, where i can see the surface/ sewing of the sole better? That was for me the most difficult part to get it flat.
electrathon Report post Posted June 26, 2013 (edited) The welt was sewn to the midsole at the class on a Landis sewing machine. I do not have a Landis, so my next pair will be hand sewn. I am used to that anyways so no problem doing that. Edited June 26, 2013 by electrathon
Feraud Report post Posted July 30, 2013 Very impressive. This is taking leatherwork to the next level. I look forward to seeing future projects!

I just bought a sticher so i get a break on the next pair and will not have to hand sew on the midsole to the welt. this is going to make things a lot easier.
