Ugh.. Problems With Consew 225..

Sorry for starting yet another thread, it really is a last resort! Ok well I was attempting to adjust my stitch length while test sewing some scraps of denim and ran into a huge problem. I pushed in the right button and turned the hand-wheel to a number I wanted and let go of the button assuming that was what I needed to do. I put my denim in to stitch and it turned into a tangled mess. I cut out all the thread and opened the bobbin case and removed all the jams in there. There was a bunch wrapped around the bobbin case itself.

I attempted to re-thread and every time I try to take up the thread from the bobbin it just turns into knots after about 3 handwheel revolutions. I checked out the stitch length gauge and it looks like whenever I turn the handwheel with or without holding down the button it is always changing the number. How do I get it to "set" and stop changing length? Any help is appreciated this is frustrating!

The button on the left is the stitch length,the button on the right is for when the clutch kicks out,the big loops could be do to improper threading,also hold the needle thread the first 3-stitches

Thanks Bob. I managed to figure out how to set the stitch length but still jamming up. The bobbin thread takes up on the first attempt but as soon as I start sewing the material just stays in one place and jams back up. I will attempt to re-thread the top thread. Do you have any tips for the bobbin threading? Maybe I am doing that wrong.

Do you know to pull up the bobbin thread up through the feed dog before you start to sew?

CowboyBob you were right about the improper threading causing the problem. I didnt notice I missed one of the guides when re-threading. Seems to be working good now. Learned a lot from that mishap!
