Hi Folks

Hi, joined up as this looks like the place to be, just started leatherwork, making equine kit mostly but do dog collar, belts and repairs,

never done anything like this before so feeling my way blindly most of the time, did a course for a week on stitching but couldn't get on anyomre as was all booked up some learning with a bok and my brains :) have attached my efforts so far, feel free to coment, unless you want to be straight mean which i don't wanna hear!

You have a good start. Since you don't wish anyone to be mean,,,,,, you need to work on burnishing your edges.

Hi,

couild you please tell me what burnishing my edges means please, as i say i have a book on making bridles and a weeks course to start my knowledge off but am keen to get this right :)

constructive critisim is fine :) just have ben on some forums where people are nasty for the sake of it!

Burnishing the edge is just smoothing it, giving a nice clean/polished edge

Theres a great guide on how to do it on this very forum

dont worry if you don't have sanders etc, some sand paper and elbow grease will do nicely

practice on some scrap first until your find a way that works for you

Theres lots of experience on this forum & as its mostly Americans, they are always nice & helpful to us new folks, even us Euros :thumbsup:
