Members Wanderinstar Posted August 7, 2013 Members Report Posted August 7, 2013 Is it possible to get a really good shine on leather? I have some offcuts from the Italian shoe industry and I have put some Carnuba wax followed by Resolene and I still only get a dull sheen. Can a good shine be obtained Ian Quote
electrathon Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 You can easily bring it to a high gloss. Threat it like a pair of shoes, put on polish and buff. Aaron Quote
Members Fowlingpiece Posted August 7, 2013 Members Report Posted August 7, 2013 If it is a veg. tan you need to burnish it prior to all the "stuff" being put on it. Some veg. tan takes a burnish better than others. Lightly dampen, wait a small interval (varies) and the buff with canvas, etc. Quote
Members Wanderinstar Posted August 7, 2013 Author Members Report Posted August 7, 2013 Hmm, why didn't I think of that. Shoe polish, so simple. Fowlingpiece. Thanks mate will try to remember that when I do veg tan. Obviously put dye and carnuba on first or after burnishing Quote
