Members pcruts Posted August 8, 2013 Members Report Posted August 8, 2013 We're switching from leather to cloth patches and the guys want to keep this font. Are there any old school guys that know what it's called? Quote
Members ChuckBurrows Posted August 8, 2013 Members Report Posted August 8, 2013 If no one comes up with an answer do a web search fo r old west or wild west fonts - a real quick search came up with several that are similar Quote
Members hornm Posted August 8, 2013 Members Report Posted August 8, 2013 It could also be something that someone either created or simply modified another to suit their taste. Is that back patch Leather? Sorry couldn't really tell from the photo. Horn Quote
Members pcruts Posted August 8, 2013 Author Members Report Posted August 8, 2013 The back patch is leather. I'll hit Google and see what I can find. Thanks guys. Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted August 9, 2013 Contributing Member Report Posted August 9, 2013 (edited) That was a sketch 'thing' from the 80's. Back of one of the Stohlman books (I 'THINK" the "TOP 20" wallet book). Thinking that ended up as a 'craftaid' template, too, but couldn't find it in my junk ... Pic in a minute ... Members biglew Posted August 13, 2013 Members Report Posted August 13, 2013 here is the font http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tandy-Leather-Craftaid-Plastic-1-3-4-Alpha-Template-72018-00-/200722136106?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ebbf8bc2a Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted August 13, 2013 Contributing Member Report Posted August 13, 2013 Yep, that's it, though I think they re-numbered it since back when. But, since yer fixin' ta use cloth, a plastic template maybe not so useful? Let me know how you gonna put the letters in (dye, paint, applique, whatever) and I'll make the lettering to suit (including sizin' the rascal). Total investment .. oh, let's say - free. Quote
Members biglew Posted August 13, 2013 Members Report Posted August 13, 2013 so if you make the letters black and white they can be scanned and turned into a stitch file for embroidery... sounds good to me I also do some embroidery... Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted August 13, 2013 Contributing Member Report Posted August 13, 2013 Matter which way on the color? Quote
Members biglew Posted August 14, 2013 Members Report Posted August 14, 2013 the top one is good for me... can you do the whole font? and maybe email it? Quote
Members pcruts Posted August 14, 2013 Author Members Report Posted August 14, 2013 Yall are absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, I had to get the design in before I saw the replies. We went with an old west lettering. Thank you all so much for your help! Quote
