buckaroogal Report post Posted September 13, 2008 Can anyone refer me to a supplier for elastic that stretches sideways. (For putting along the leg of a chap) thanks.
tashabear Report post Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) All elastic stretches sideways. It just depends on which way you turn it. I don't mean to be a smart ass, but I'm not sure what you want your elastic to look like. Do you mean like 1" wide elastic that stretches along the width, instead of the length? BevJones Report post Posted September 25, 2008 I found someone in Oregon that has some. It is in 12" sections so you would have to sew about 3 sections together rather than 30+. Her name is Pati. Street Leathers of Oregon is her business. Tell her Bev Jones of DB Jones Saddlery sent you. Her number is (541) 535-1042. Her web address is www.streetleathersoforegon.com. Hope this helps. If you find bigger sections let us know.
nwolcott Report post Posted September 25, 2008 Google Spandex. I ran into this problem on a set of shotgun chaps. Elastic typically stretches lengthwise and "sidewise" is rare and expensive.
