Old American Skiver (Need Bruce Johnson's Advice)

Recommended Posts

Here I have an old Champion Skiver for sale. I believe this one is a bit older than the ones Bruce has on his website. Maybe a first or second model? Bruce your input would be greatly appreciated here!!! I degreased the entire skiver and it seems that everything functions properly. I have not tried to loosen any screws though. I have run leather through it and it does work but the blade would need some sharpening before use. There are some traces of black enamel paint on the skiver. I'm asking $175.00 plus shipping. PM Me with any interest. Bruce, if you have any info on this, feel free to add to it.

It says it's a American brand on the machine.

Good Lord, I need my head examined. Sorry about that. I meant American out of St. Louis. If Moderators could change the heading and wording, I would appreciate it. Too many things going on at one time. Thanks for pointing that out.

Damn. I fixed a title. I am earning my keep around here after all. Yup, American. Americans tend to be pretty easy to take apart and get back together. The drive wheel on this is the top wheel. The lines can mark damp leather but not so much on dry leather or latigo.
