Ive heard that for its weight kangaroo leather is the strongest leather that can be used for lacing . Is this correct ? Has anyone not living in Australia tried it ? I only use it and nothing else as there is minimal or no stretch , its strong and has very fine hair folicles giving it a very clean smooth look . Its bloody tough !

I'd be more apathetic if I wasn't so lethargic !!!!

Yes, Davy, those of us not from Australia have heard of it, and it is popular for the reasons you've listed. Tandy (tandyleatherfactory.com) sells it.

I use ROO for all my thonging. The price is off putting but it comes in some great colours and is user friendly. Cheer's Darryl

In another guild I previously belonged to, some of us got together and placed a large 'roo lace order from an Australian supplier (it was a while back, sorry I don't remember where it was from...) I still have quite a bit. I like it ALOT, but it can be stretchy. I like it most for the variety of brown colors I got.

How does one keep the kangaroo from hopping around while you are trying to lace it?
