Davy Report post Posted September 14, 2008 Ive heard that for its weight kangaroo leather is the strongest leather that can be used for lacing . Is this correct ? Has anyone not living in Australia tried it ? I only use it and nothing else as there is minimal or no stretch , its strong and has very fine hair folicles giving it a very clean smooth look . Its bloody tough !
TwinOaks Report post Posted September 14, 2008 Yes, Davy, those of us not from Australia have heard of it, and it is popular for the reasons you've listed. Tandy (tandyleatherfactory.com) sells it.

Dags3777 Report post Posted September 14, 2008 I use ROO for all my thonging. The price is off putting but it comes in some great colours and is user friendly. Cheer's Darryl
wildrose Report post Posted September 15, 2008 In another guild I previously belonged to, some of us got together and placed a large 'roo lace order from an Australian supplier (it was a while back, sorry I don't remember where it was from...) I still have quite a bit. I like it ALOT, but it can be stretchy. I like it most for the variety of brown colors I got.

tonyc1 Report post Posted September 16, 2008 How does one keep the kangaroo from hopping around while you are trying to lace it? A few grains of lead usually stops them hopping! Tony.
