Barcodeboy Report post Posted August 20, 2013 Hey all from Kansas City, Mo. Recently finished college, got married (August 2012) and relocated from NW Iowa to Kansas City, Missouri. Have frequented the board for a few days and just thought I would say hi. My experience in leather is minimal, boy scout projects and a few kits for Christmas from an artsy aunt. However, my dad would take me to rendezvous when I was younger and saw lots of handcrafted leather goods. Thanks!

Riemer Report post Posted August 22, 2013 I'm in a small town outside of KC. Welcome, Sir! There is a gentleman on youtube that has been extremely helpful to me, Ian Atkinson is his name. Also, the forum is a treasure trove of information. Word of caution; talk with the wife about all those leather purchases, otherwise you'll be refinancing the house in no time. azrider Report post Posted November 29, 2013 Welcome to the board! Leatherwork can be a lot of fun, but its a time consuming hobby. You might also want to check out http://santafeleatherguild.org/content/ if you want to meet other leatherworkers in the area.

Barcodeboy Report post Posted February 14, 2014 Thanks to everyone who responded A lot has happened since I posted to say hi, but I am looking forward to trying out leatherworking. I've always wanted to learn something I can do with my hands, my wife is incredibly creative and crafty. I have been looking through this forum for quite some time, especially in the last 2 weeks, and I'm hoping I can do sort of a 'try-on' with leatherworking to see if it is for me. I KNOW I appreciate durability and love the beauty that can be found in a great piece of leather, but not sure it is for ME to do. I think you understand. Again thanks, and thank you for this great community with so much great info to read.
