Looking To Get A Machine But Totally At A Loss Which To Get

Hi everyone

Well I have got to that point where I am thinking of getting a sewing machine, I do mostly pouches, bags, belts in 3mm+ veg tan as I often carve them first.

I would like to do finer stuff like wallets, but find hand stitching makes them not cost effective. I have a limited budget (£500 or so) and unfortunately live in uk, so my options are a little limited.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It might be better to find some machines and then ask if they are appropriate rather than to ask which machines are good since there are just so many. If you let us know what types of things, type and thicknesses of leather and thread etc.. You would like to use then people can give suggestions as to the general type of machine you might need.

And there are many threads on this subject, some recently from the UK and Europe. So a few searches may be in order too. Helps to broaden your exposure and to answer many of the questions you should have.
