Members bmorgan13 Posted December 10, 2013 Members Report Posted December 10, 2013 Hello all. I hope you can help me with a few newbie questions that have probably been asked 100 times, but I can't find what I'm looking for in the search. My question is that I have a large piece of 8 oz leather and would like to make some items. With this size can I make the following: iPhone wallet and case iPad case Wallet What are some other small items I could make? I also have a large piece of what I think is calf skin. It is maybe 1/16 inch thick and flexible. What can I make out of this? Thanks for any help and direction you have. Quote
Northmount Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 8 oz is too thick for small items like wallet and iPhone case that will be folded. For larger items like iPad case, depending on your design, the fold should be gouged on the flesh side to make it easier to fold. For a lot of small things, not subject to lots of wear and tear, 3/4 or 4/5 oz is easier to work with and not so bulky. Tom Quote
