Yay, looks nice and should do the job. But how do you intend to clamp the leather between the jaws? I think you´d need sth like a long screw or some clamps at least. In addition I hope the angle of the jaws is enough for you to work. I´d prefere a higher angle so I got more room for hands while stitchig.

But all in all I like it ;)

Plan to try and get left and right and bolts and have a bushing threaded with left and right hand threads.But for now tee nut and 5/16 all thread with knob, will pick that up today along with a spring.

Looks sweet. I seen your measuring marks at he base. You do need to have a little spacing between the legs.

So the leg with the hinge can rock back. Leather on the clamping pads.

On mine the I put the bolt too high up. It restricted the opening. I dropped it further down.
