Members Woodhog Posted January 27, 2014 Members Report Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) Any suggestions for a beginner ? Six impressions it bent then snapped. The new 3 pc name brand set seemed like a deal for $12 The same stamp individually is $9 online. I used a smooth flat case hardened jewelers anvil 5 x 5 x 3/4 steel plate & a plastic mallet http://www.harborfre...llet-69048.html and moistened the 8 oz leather. electrathon Posted January 27, 2014 Report Posted January 27, 2014 Loose the steel and get a stone to work on. The steel wil discolor the leather at some point. As to the braking, what brand was the tool Craft tools are ar from quality. They are guarantied though, so trade it for anothr. Quote
