Members Sorefingers Posted January 29, 2014 Members Report Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) Hello Everyone, I have been on here for a while and thought it was time to participate a little more. Posted for your viewing are a few examples of some of the holsters I have done. I started out making knife sheaths because I also enjoy bladesmithing. I then made my first holster and word has gotten around so now I am making more of them. Take a look let me know what you all think. I have noticed with each one i have refined and at least tried to improve the overall product but as with anything else learning takes practice and time. Edited January 29, 2014 by Sorefingers Quote
Members Rohn Posted January 29, 2014 Members Report Posted January 29, 2014 Looks good, are they hand stitched or do you have a machine? I make quite a few holster too and lace most of mine. Quote Rohn(John 8:32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (KJV)
Members Sorefingers Posted January 29, 2014 Author Members Report Posted January 29, 2014 Everything I do is hand stitched. Leatherwork became an added hobby as I said. I have done several holsters for friends and aquiantances but now I am getting more requests all the time. Most of the people I deal with are looking for concealment holsters I have one person who is interested in a buscadero rig for a Ruger Superblackhawk. Thank you for the kind words. Quote
Members Rohn Posted January 29, 2014 Members Report Posted January 29, 2014 I do holsters and so far most have been similar to the one in my avitar. Over the years I have sold a bunch of them. Quote Rohn(John 8:32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (KJV)
Members johnv474 Posted January 30, 2014 Members Report Posted January 30, 2014 Greetings fellow Hoosier, and welcome. Nice looking work. The stitching looks very consistent. I may have to try my hand at holsters someday. Quote
Members Sorefingers Posted January 30, 2014 Author Members Report Posted January 30, 2014 Thanks John. Rohn, I have not tried lacing a holster yet. I bought one of the project kits for a wallet a long time ago and found that to be frustrating. I haven't practiced as much as i need to with tooling leather yet either. One of the problems I have is too many interests and not enough time. Between work and family it gets a bit tough to find time. Quote
