johnnysignor Report post Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) These two Leather jacket patches went to a WW2 veteran of the unit , 388th Bombardment Group & 560th Bombardment Squadron "Gremlin Gus" , I especially enjoy making these patches when they go to a veteran , most of my work has done so , but also reenactors and collectors have ordered my patches , enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! johnnysignor Report post Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) Just added 17 new Leather unit patch photos to my Facebook page , below are a couple of them , along with a shot of some of the patches I made after they were matted/framed by the customer so you can see how well they also display on a war room wall if you don't want them on a jacket , enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Click the "Thumbnails for a much better close up of them, the patches are 43rd Bombardment Group "Ken's Men"(left) and 376th Bombardment Group "Liberandos" on right , the framed patches are both of the 730th Bombardment squadron , one is the WW2 era design (upper left) the other (lower right) is the Korean era one, there's also an 8th AAF and leather name strip . johnnysignor Report post Posted August 30, 2015 Another couple additons, these just recently finished , the man I made them for his Father was in the 460th Bombardment Group/760th Squadron ,15th AAF , the group B-24's carried the "Panther" unit emblem on the noses , the squadron's of this Group were denoted on each patch by a small tab each going clockwise around them and each having the last number of the Squadron on them , his 760th "0" , the others 761st "1",762nd "2" and 763rd "3'.......... enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! johnnysignor Report post Posted October 11, 2015 My newest Leather unit patch work, 512th Bombardment Squadron , this emblem was carries on the nose of the unit B-24 Liberators and one of the Famous ones of the unit "Strawberry Bitch" resides in the AF museum in Ohio , the emblem is on her nose, enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! johnnysignor Report post Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) My newest Leather patch , COMSAIRWAYS , this emblem was used by a "Contract" unit that was under the AAF Air Transport Command flying converted B-24's flying cargo and military people where needed, they also had TWA,UNITED and PAN AM working with them .
