Members groovytech Posted February 5, 2014 Members Report Posted February 5, 2014 I'm sittin' here pondering a project that requires different shades of dyeing in localised areas. i.e.- Mahogony in one raised area, Tan in another. Anybody used frog tape this way? I'm not talking color accents, I mean base dyeing. Thanks, Marc Quote
Tree Reaper Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 I wouldn't trust it for that application. Maybe for the back of a belt or strap but not the tool side. I've used it and the adhesion isn't great. Quote
Members shtoink Posted February 7, 2014 Members Report Posted February 7, 2014 I second what Tree Reaper says... The issue with using tape is that it is on the surface and the dye you are applying is soaking past the surface into the leather. The typical things for a resist also soak in to about the same depth as the dyes, so that is part of the reason they work well. Quote
