Steve In SC Report post Posted February 18, 2014 Thanks WLG! I have a ton to learn when it comes to leathercraft but it sure is fun practicing. The floral corners are from a craftaid pattern. I drew up the letters based on a MS Word font. I'm still trying to learn how to control the swivel knife better. That thing has a mind of its own I swear... This was my first lacing attempt and is a simple cross whip stitch - Lacing is sure easier than hand stitching If you can't tuck the tail between layers to hide it, is there any other way to terminate it other than threading back under a couple of the last "x's" pulled tight? tedhit Report post Posted February 19, 2014 Nice work. I haven't done much lacing so can't comment on the termination. However, I've just started playing around with tooling and was curious about how long that took you?
Steve In SC Report post Posted February 22, 2014 Thanks tedhit. This was my first attempt at anything resembling a Sheridan style carving so I really took my time. I used a craftaid for the transfer pattern and took about 4 hours on each corner piece. The lacing only took about an hour. Staring at it wondering "how should I do this" and watching videos as well as researching this site for guidance... I didn't even count that time! v/r, steve
