I have an xtra Suzuki boulevard c50 stock solo seat ( pic attached ) looking to shave it down and re cover it..

anyone have tips for a newbie on how to cut/cover/assemble a seat like this (sorry if this has been asked somewhere else)

is there a pattern? a way to make one using original cover maybe?

thanks for any input :)

The easiest way 8 to take the old cover off and trace or out on your pattern material.

The foam cuts easily with an electric carving or fillet knife.

I'm having a lot of trouble shaping the foam on my V Star 1300 solo seat. A electric carving knife only works on flat or convex surfaces, not on concave. My goal is to shape the foam then adapt veg tanned leather over the foam after tooling a design. So far I've learned that the foam has to be very smooth, otherwise the bumps and irregularities in the foam will show through. If I cannot shape the leather myself, I'm taking the seat and have MREDMOTO in Albany Oregon do the foam part.
