Im wanting to do make a halter with the 10 plait Then I was thinking about making a Belt with the 12 Or do you guys know anywhere to look to find the info on braids? rcsaddles Report post Posted February 28, 2014 You can do either an over 1 under 1 or over 2 under 2 for a 10 or 12 flat braid. I think you can probably find how to start them on You Tube. rcsaddles Report post Posted May 29, 2014 In my experience you lose about 1/3 while braiding. If you want something to end up at 8 inches, you should start with your strands being about 24 inches long. You half them to start the flat braid and that will give you enough to hold on to to pull tight at the end. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
