What's The Proper Way To Adjust The Tippmann Boss?

I've had my Boss of a year now, and have it set to where it sews good and consistent stitches, but the back side of the lather looks marred up when I'm done. Plus, I always have to pull the needle thread by hand, due to the tightness of the adjustments, when I am done stitching to cut the threads.

Has anyone had a 'Tried and True' method for adjusting the Boss from scratch, so I can take some of the tension off of the needle thread and bobbin?

I'm using a 200 round tip needle and 277 thread on needle and bobbin.

Here's a pic of the back of a holster that just finished drying this morning. It appears as if the leather is 'tearing' when it pulls the bobbin thread through. I think my Pressure Foot tension is good, because I have minimal marks on the back now.

there are many who use the boss that say that bobbin tension should be about a pound of tension, but usually I have found it to be a bit less. and its hard to gauge by just pulling the bobbin thread. you can use a trigger pull gauge to test that if needed.

I would try backing off the bobbin tension a bit and adjust the thread tension to compensate and bull the stitch up into the leather. make sure your need is set properly also.

have you looked at your stitch length? cause a short stitch can cause that effect also. if that fails, it might be worth calling tippmann, the support they have is great, and can walk you through a variety of fixes

Might try a leather point needle. Round point for woven material makes it hard to pull up the knot.

ooops, I didn't see round needle, that's most likely a lot of your issue.
