Nessmuk1 Report post Posted March 11, 2014 I bought a thing called a leather splitter. It is small, two pieces of wood, hinged, and has a blade in one side, a metal pad on the other. When hinged closed it has the blade into a slot on the metal pad. It is only 4 - 6 inches long closed.
bruce johnson Report post Posted March 11, 2014 It sounds like it might be an Akins (Atkins, Adkins, something like that anyway) splitter. Very old , Got a picture?
