Jaystacy Report post Posted March 13, 2014 The below pics are both resisted with RTC and Sheridan brown antique paste used. I have not sealed it yet but am wondering if there is a way to strip the top layer resist so I can add a bit more oil to darken the leather a little more. keplerts Report post Posted March 13, 2014 Jaystacy, I would simply add light coats of oil to the backside until you reach the desired tone. Put a coat on and let it sit overnight. This gives the oil a chance to soak through. If not dark enough then repeat. Don't make the mistake of putting lots of oil on all at once. Be patient! Bob Blea Report post Posted March 13, 2014 To answer the other part of your question, I have stripped the resist off an antiqued project by using denatured alcohol and lightly scrubbing.
