Members DavidL Posted April 2, 2014 Members Report Posted April 2, 2014 I have an olfa rotary cutter and the blade may need to be replaced in a months time. The blade get expensive if they have to be replaced every month. Are there tools out there that help sharpen rotary blades? Quote

Members DavidL Posted April 2, 2014 Author Members Report Posted April 2, 2014 sounds good. Will also pick up a knipshield clicker knife so i won't have to get as many rotary blades. Quote
Members WinterBear Posted April 3, 2014 Members Report Posted April 3, 2014 Check sewing supply/craft stores that sell fabric on the bolt. They usually carry replacement blades and sharpeners for rotary blades, plus handy gadgets like handles that attach to your straight edge with suction cups to help keep fingers out of the blade's path. Members BondoBobCustomSaddles Posted April 3, 2014 Members Report Posted April 3, 2014 I have been using my olfa rotary" pinking" cutter for years to cut the edge of padded seats. I sharpen it with a buffer and a little compound. leave it in the handle and buff the exposed edge both sides, then rotate till a new section is exposed and repeat till all is sharpened. It doesn't take much and like I said I have been using mine for years. Bob Quote
Members DavidL Posted April 3, 2014 Author Members Report Posted April 3, 2014 If I ever get a buffing wheel that would work out really well, for all my tools. I do have a strop with compound I can try on. Thank you everyone for the replies. Quote
