jack2332 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 does anyone have any idea with what this hasp is installed? Both ends inside and out seem to have a revit or pin head of some sort. how do they do that to get it to be the same on both ends? a tube or split revit would show the split on the other end. maybe a pin flattened but that would bend and scratch up the front end i dont think its a force fit revit as none are that small any ideas how to install a hasp like this with available tools and a clean non scratched up way? electrathon Report post Posted April 3, 2014 It looks like just a basic rivet. Think of a piece of wire with both ends smashed. Or a nail with the sharp end smashed.
jack2332 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 yea, but how can you hammer the rivet head without scratching and roughing up the brass or chrome hasp?
jack2332 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 are there rivet setters that are that small to curve around the head without hitting the hasp? do you know where i could find them?
electrathon Report post Posted April 3, 2014 You can easily use a nail. Snip it where it sticks through and a rivet set can be made from a small rod with s divot drilled into the end.
jack2332 Report post Posted April 3, 2014 what do you mean by "s divot" - just drill a small dome on the head to match the nail right?

RiverCity Report post Posted April 4, 2014 If you dont mind spending a couple of bucks, a nail set would be better. Hardened steel, and meant for hard use. Chuck
