Members Tommy217xxx Posted April 5, 2014 Members Report Posted April 5, 2014 Hey everyone, I'm starting on my first belt and i had a few questions. The belt is a blank from tandy. It's 48" long. I've already grooved and diamond punched it. I'm gonna saddle stitch it. What end should I start on? Also should I try to stitch each side as one continues stitch? If so, how much extra thread should I have so I have enough? Thanks In advance for any help and tips. Quote
Members stanly Posted April 24, 2014 Members Report Posted April 24, 2014 start anywhere u want except at tip "continus stitch" - Im sure u ment continuous line of stitching, No. Most people just cut off about a ams span (6-8 ft) and splice. guessing u haven't read- Al Stohlman "Art of Hand Sewing Leather" yet, as it answers these and more. Ambassador Luke Hatley Posted April 25, 2014 Ambassador Report Posted April 25, 2014 I start mine on the billet end Then stich to where the buckle will go ...then stich the other side. You will be pulling 1/2 as much thread thru the stiching holes. Quote
