DavidL Report post Posted April 7, 2014 Any one receive craft grade kangaroo leather from packer leather? quoted me around 12 dollars a square foot if i factor in shipping and export fee for a large order(4-5) without duties. Is this the going rate for kangaroo leather. Each hide is 6 square feet, maybe more, maybe less. 12 a sq foot is for the craft leather and I'm hoping it doesn't have too many scratches on the leather and unusable spots. Would anyone that purchased the craft kangaroo leather say that it is worth the money? I've spotted another seller on ebay selling kangaroo hides but the quality could be worse. http://www.ebay.ca/sch/outthere09/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= How many sq feet would this be? Looks to be 8-9 or would that be 6 sq feet like the size of packer leather?
RavenAus Report post Posted April 8, 2014 Is that Packer Direct in Australia? They are good, but for my money I'd contact East Coast Leather - http://www.eastcoastleather.com.au/ - They are very helpful and their hides are a better price and quality than Packer, although they don't tan their own as Packer do with their roo. willsketch Report post Posted December 9, 2014 What price did they quote you?
DavidL Report post Posted December 9, 2014 Grade 1 K-Craft matt finish is priced @ AUD$116.45/m2. Skins average around 0.6m2 in size. 1m2 = 10.8 sq feet. cost of the export paper work is under 50 dollars. One paperwork form is needed per shipment and the fee is a flat rate regardless of the amount of hides.
