Members bwillielv Posted April 17, 2014 Members Report Posted April 17, 2014 I have a chance to buy a Consew model 28 machine. I found the manual online but it doesn't tell me everything I need. Does anyone know how thick of leather this will sew? Any idea what this machine should run? Brian Quote
CowboyBob Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 This model 28 is the same as a Singer 78-1 or-3 machine.It should sew the same as a 31-15 up to 5/16" around 20 oz of leather,it would be good for wallets,chaps & etc. Quote

Basically I need it to sew two pieces of 8 ounce leather together until I can buy a more expensive machine. This would be my first machine. Anything I should be aware of when going to look at it today? Quote
