Members MuddyClearWaters Posted June 12, 2014 Members Report Posted June 12, 2014 I have a crocodile belly that is of unknown age. I got it at a garage sale. It was stored indoors but its pretty dry. I made a project with it and the sections between the plates where tearing really easily. Is there any way I can recondition the back side of the hide. Put more moisture back into it? What is the best way to do this? Mink oil? Something else? Carson. Quote

Members acigarsmoker Posted July 6, 2014 Members Report Posted July 6, 2014 I would try some Obenauf's leather oil on it. Go easy and give it a day or two or three to migrate through the leather. The oil and the heavy duty LP are both great stuff but they will darken the leather some. Jon Quote
