Seiko Ch-8B Or Singer 45B8Bc

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Looking for a service manual for either the Seiko CH-8B or Singer 45B8BC cylinder arm machines. Something more than the instruction book that is offered by Seiko.

Currently I am having two problems. The first is that if we use the second tension assembly on the face plate, the machines breaks thread. I have 4 machines, all are expericing the same problem. I thought is might be a bad lot of thread, but we have tested it, and it is in spec. It does the same on the new shipment of thread. The machine has been completely de-burred, and it still has not helped.

The second is on one of the machines. If I have the feet lift equally, then the outside foot lifts with the inside foot. To keep this from happening, I have the outside foot to barely lift, and the inside lifts very high. It has beat a hole into the left side cover on the from of the machine.

Any suggestions on what I might be missing?

Thanks,

Mark

Not sure if I got you right but regarding the higher foot lift of the inner foot:

There is a wing nut or screw on the front side (right side of the rod when you are sitting in front of the machine) which can be set in different positions. I guess your is in the lower position. Set it to the upper position and that should solve the foot lift problem.

But a few pictures in advance would be helpful.

I also assume that the machines are not correctly threaded.

See attached, this may be a better book than what you have for this Seiko made machine.

Hi there.

I have an Instruction manual for the TH-8B which I assume is pretty much the same machine.

Cheers Trevor
