Members Jim Posted August 17, 2014 Members Report Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) Alrighty then, folks have been looking for this pattern for the 1863 Holster from the Civil War. Well, being as nobody wants to carry it, I decided to post it here for all to enjoy. Keep in mind that the Patterns are on 17 x 11 sheets. The Instructions are on 8 1/2 x 11. When you have the Patterns printed be sure to tell them to set the Page Scaling to NONE! DO Not Fit To Page, the patterns will be too small when printed. The Instructions won't fit here so they are on the next post. Enjoy Jim R. Simmons Etowah River leather CW Holster Holster Pattern .pdf Edited August 17, 2014 by Jim Quote

Members camano ridge Posted August 17, 2014 Members Report Posted August 17, 2014 Jim, thanks for posting. Very kind of you. Quote
Members Jim Posted August 18, 2014 Author Members Report Posted August 18, 2014 The Civil War is the most re-enacted period in our history and suppliers are not interested in offering patterns for the military items used. Go figure! So, it's my pleasure! Jim Quote
Members Bruno Rock Posted August 18, 2014 Members Report Posted August 18, 2014 Excellent job! Thank you so much! I've been looking for ages for a realistic pattern! Any chance to have a percussion cap and cartridges pouch? Quote

Members Jim Posted August 22, 2014 Author Members Report Posted August 22, 2014 Excellent job! Thank you so much! I've been looking for ages for a realistic pattern! Any chance to have a percussion cap and cartridges pouch? As matter of fact, the Pistol Box patterns and instructions are on this thread somewhere betwee page 10 and 25. I'll had to repost it as soon as I can. The Cap Box pattern and instructions are too dang big to post but since when has that stopped me. I'll be in touch. Jim Quote
Members camano ridge Posted August 22, 2014 Members Report Posted August 22, 2014 Page 25 http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=52017 the 1863 holoster is there also a post or two down Quote
Members Jim Posted August 22, 2014 Author Members Report Posted August 22, 2014 The pattern is on one page with the instructions on another. I'll post again and do the two on the same post with the reply like I did the holster. Thanks again Camano. Quote
Members Shooter McGavin Posted August 24, 2014 Members Report Posted August 24, 2014 I have no interest in building this type of holster, but still feel like I need to say "THANK YOU!" for taking the time to share this. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow and do not seem to leave anything up to guessing. Great job! Quote
Members Jim Posted August 25, 2014 Author Members Report Posted August 25, 2014 Thank you for that Shooter. I make an effort for any and all patterns made here to have the best of instructions. The Brazos Jack Wild West Series holsters come with 34 pages of detailed instructions. Jim Quote
Members billybopp Posted August 25, 2014 Members Report Posted August 25, 2014 Thanks Jim I know it can be quite a challenge putting the things that you do on a project or any procedure into words, but it's also extremely helpful. Well done! Bill Quote
Members jwoldsr Posted August 27, 2014 Members Report Posted August 27, 2014 Hello Jim, I am an old hobby leather worker, but new to this forum. I am impressed with the pattern and instructions. Thanks for your generosity. John Quote

Members Lizardo Posted September 26, 2015 Members Report Posted September 26, 2015 I have noticed how so many CW patterns have CS in the oval. From my understanding, the South didn't mark them this way, but it still looks good. There were also a lot of different designs the Confederacy used, there wasn't much of a 'standard' design. Quote
Members Puttman Posted March 15, 2018 Members Report Posted March 15, 2018 Thanks for sharing this pattern. It will make things a lot easier. Quote
Members Ammodawg321 Posted April 7, 2018 Members Report Posted April 7, 2018 And many more thanks to Mr. Jim for posting these. I'm at the, "post-stamping, hurry-up-and-dry-darnit" stage and it looks great so far! Quote
