anthonyg1382 Report post Posted September 29, 2014 I know it's just a passenger seat but it's a hand stitched. It was a learning experience. Let me know what yall think.
Sanch Report post Posted September 29, 2014 Anthony, I by no stretch of the imagination am an expert but your "stitching" looks weird what lace did you use and what type of braid is that? color wise it looks fine to me but color and art are very subjective things to discuss, your tooling looks shallow IMHO, but that may be due to the thickness of the leather you used. Now on a positive note (not that I was all negative) working on a big ol fat pillion pad like this isn't easy and your 1st looks clean for a first... were it me I would have gone with a black antique or a very dark one considering the art (skull) it tends to bring out the subject matter more so. Just my humble opinion also critiques are worthless unless we learn from them not just the person being critiqued but the one critiquing. So what have I learned from your P Pad? well that lacing a ol school one like this just don't trip my trigger....
anthonyg1382 Report post Posted September 29, 2014 It's just regular waxed linen and it's a cross stitch. A friend want me to recover the seat and that's all I had. I do want to learn lacing tho. But for what kangaroo lace cost I didn't want to mess it up. I know what your talking about with the antique stuff but I don't have any...kinda just starting leather working. Thank you for the feed back tho
