Members anthonyg1382 Posted September 30, 2014 Members Report Posted September 30, 2014 I've do two projects now that I've used fiebings edge kote on and both times it comes off when wet. I burnish the edge then apply the black edge kote...am I doin this right or what's the deal? Quote
Members Sissypants Posted October 1, 2014 Members Report Posted October 1, 2014 Do you mean the EdgeKote beads up on the burnished edge? If so, I'm having the same problem and would be curious about the answers you get. Sorry I can't help you. Quote
Members anthonyg1382 Posted October 1, 2014 Author Members Report Posted October 1, 2014 It dosnt bead up...goes on just fine, dies fine, but when it gets wet it rubs off. Quote
Members lws380 Posted October 1, 2014 Members Report Posted October 1, 2014 I switched to Dura Edge and it seems better. Only two colors and the brown is fairly dark. Wished they had dome lighter brown colors. Quote
Members jtweatherford Posted October 2, 2014 Members Report Posted October 2, 2014 I had the exact same problem. Definitely not a fan of Edge Kote. Now I use Fiebings USMC black dye. I dye first then follow the rest of Bob's (hidepounder) directions on dyeing. I finish by applying Tan Kote and then Wyosheen. I have not had any rubbing off since I have switched to this method. Hope that helps. Quote
