tatehunt Report post Posted October 5, 2014 Nice! Veg tanned? What oz? I was interested to see how vinegroon dye turned out. Yes, Hermann Oak Veg tan (6-7oz) lined with black pig. Vinegroon is a breeze, but not a fresh breeze... Takes awhile for the stink to wear out. After using the vinegroon, I dip the piece in baking soda and water, let everything dry, then add a little essential oil to the neetsfoot to help mitigate the odor. Oiling the piece helps to keep it from greying out when it gets dry. I like the fact that the dye soaks through, and beveling and trimming reveals black leather. The smell is the only drawback.
