bcflyguy Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 After the leather pattern has been tooled, what is the proceedure of painting some parts of the pattern and how is it sealed? I am a newbie and would appreciate all and every comment Thank you in advance Neil Quote
Members Colt W Knight Posted October 13, 2014 Members Report Posted October 13, 2014 I mix acrylic paints with distilled water. It needs to be runny enough that it flows well, but viscous enough that it goes on enough there is still ample color. After the leather is dry, I do about 3 coats of color. After its dry I seal. Something that bends needs a flexible top coat like resolene or mop n glo. Flat surfaces like leather folders can be top coated with a spray can clear coat. Be sure to oil the leather prior to painting. A couple light coats will do. Quote
