Pounder Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 Once again I am turning to the experts. I am trying to place letters on a ladies belt which according to the Stohlman book and the buckle she wants threads the opposite of a mans belt. I have started this three times and have ruined three straps. Is there a trick to this that I am missing? I know this is a stupid question but I cannot seem to get my brain around it. Would greatly appreciate any tips or directions. Quote Crooked Finger Leather 5514 E. Hwy 40 Greenfield, IN 46140 (317) 947-8046
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted October 31, 2014 Contributing Member Report Posted October 31, 2014 (edited) Not sure where you're having the issue. Flip the belt, so the buckle end is on the right. Figure where the holes go and the fold. Place the buckle at the fold line. Measure from the middle of the buckle, 1/2 of the waist size, and mark for the MIDDLE of the name. Center the name on your mark. No? Yes? Pounder Posted October 31, 2014 Author Report Posted October 31, 2014 JSLeather I appreciate the direction, not sure why I am having such difficulty with this. I have made several belts and never had an issue. This time just does not seem to be working, maybe I have upset the leather gods or it is time to get the old head checked. Either way, I will give it a shot. Thanks. Quote Crooked Finger Leather 5514 E. Hwy 40 Greenfield, IN 46140 (317) 947-8046
