I'm using the same leather I used for January's vertical wallet pattern, 2-2.5 oz calfskin.

If you're planning on tooling 6-8oz would probably be fine.

Thanks Tom. Serious amount of good will your way with all these patterns.

Made the drop kit and really happy with it. Next time around I might cut the sides attached to the body. Will make assembly a bit easir but might not look as nice.

My 2/3 oz calfskin turned out a little too thin. A goatskin liner helped stiffen it up. I'll be posting pics in a day or two in the February Keep Making Stuff Challenge.
