Bruno Rock Report post Posted December 1, 2014 Hi guys, quite new in leatherworking and always interested in new techniques, I've bumped in this picture of a belt, and I'm wondering how to make the double tone dyeing at the edges, since I have the same veiner stamping tool, I want to make a belt like this, so I am askying myself is just dyed using a little brush or there's a special method? I was asked also, how to make a red circle with a maker's mark on it, and I answered you can mark the leather with a something circular and then carefully dye it with a brush that area and when is dried you can mark it. Am I wrong? Thanks for any friendly advice. Cheers from Italy
texback Report post Posted December 1, 2014 Looks like the edges were dyed using a small brush from what I can see of the pic.
Wild Bill46 Report post Posted December 2, 2014 Bruno ------------------------ I would tend to agree with Tex , As this is what it appears has been done. It is a nice effect, and something different than what I have seen lately. As far as a makers mark goes, t They are something like a 3D stamp, if you'll search the advertisements above you'll realize there are several makers who stand ready to make you a makers mark as you want it. Hope your questions have been answered. ??? ---------------------------------- Wild Bill46
