Members builderofstuff Posted December 3, 2014 Members Report Posted December 3, 2014 This is a stamp that I milled out tonight using acrylic as a material. I was surprised that it worked as well as it did and seemed to be more than strong enough. My cutter that I was using for the cleanup pass broke and so I ended up doing the cleanup work by hand with the dremel tool. Members builderofstuff Posted December 3, 2014 Author Members Report Posted December 3, 2014 Stamped a bit deeper and then I touched up a couple of spots with the back of an x-acto knife to add in some finer details. Members builderofstuff Posted December 3, 2014 Author Members Report Posted December 3, 2014 Thanks. It all started because I wanted to make a makers stamp, I'm sure eventually I'll actually get around to it. LOL This particular stamp was made from a graphic that I used to make an airbrush stencil. Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted December 3, 2014 Contributing Member Report Posted December 3, 2014 very cool, and I'm surprised that the acrylic is holding up as well as it is. Members builderofstuff Posted December 3, 2014 Author Members Report Posted December 3, 2014 Me to. I didn't really expect it to. It's milled from a 1/2" thick piece. Chris Quote Just a man, a shop, and a long list of unfinished projects..... My Website My Etsy Shop
Members builderofstuff Posted December 3, 2014 Author Members Report Posted December 3, 2014 I think I might take some 1/4" aluminum and epoxy it to the back of the stamp to make it even stronger, but so far it seems like it works fine without it.
