RavenAus Report post Posted December 4, 2014 Hi there, I just got myself a new machine - well, new to me It's a Singer 29k13. There was a bit of rust and it needed a darned good oiling, but it seems to be going well. The only thing I'm stuck on is how to adjust the foot. I can't seem to figure out how to raise and lower the foot, and right now it's just barely pulling the leather through. I found a manual for a 29k4 but nothing for the k13, and it didn't really go into the foot much, can anyone point me in the right direction?
Evo160K Report post Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) Probably not what you need, but here's a parts manual including the 29K13, it may help later. http://dixiesewingmachine.tzo.com/MANUALS/SINGERPARTS1/29K1%20TO%20K4,K10%20TO%20K18,K12%20TO%20K23,K30%20TO%20K33.pdf This instruction manual for the use and servicing of the 29K62 discusses pressure on the material and how to adjust it. http://dixiesewingmachine.tzo.com/MANUALS/SINGERSERVICE/29K62-Inst.pdf Edited December 4, 2014 by Evo160K
RavenAus Report post Posted December 4, 2014 Sorted it and got it working. The stitch length seems pretty reasonable considering there's 2 layers of 6oz-ish leather under it. The main reason is was spitting the dummy? The guy I bought it from had painted the needle plate so the leather wouldn't move under the foot. I sanded it off back to 600 grit and stropped it up a bit and the baby sews like a dream now :D
