raysouth Report post Posted December 14, 2014 In an attempt to keep things as easy as possible for me, I have decided it would be best to have a cutoff date for the collectibles offer of free items for postage only. To allow any other interested folks to take advantage of the offer, I will now leave the offer on the table until December 31 at midnight. Good way to end a great year. Then should begin my selection of items to ship in the new year, during January or whenever folks would like to have the items shipped. As we wind down another year, I reflect on the pleasure life has brought to me and hope that the same would be for the folks on the site. We are truly blessed and enjoy sharing my time with everyone here. May the Christmas Season and the coming New Year, be filled with nothing but good times for all. God Bless. raysouth Report post Posted December 14, 2014 Hello Twin Oaks, Thank you for the praise. Just another fun thing to do. Hope more folks decide to get on the list and send me their mailing address and info @ what they like to collect. Was able to walk around the shop yesterday and caused me to stop and wonder how I ever amassed so many things. Just never seemed to have enough. lol. Hope all is well in your area and that you were able to find others in a guild. God Bless. Ray
TwinOaks Report post Posted December 14, 2014 Yes Ray, I was able to meet up with the ALG for the last meeting. They're a really nice group of folks. We also just got a new member from Guntersville here on the forums. Thank you for the lead on them.

blue1 Report post Posted December 31, 2014 Hi Ray. Just getting into leather work. Made my wife a purse for Christmas. I am interested in trying to learn leaf pattern carving/stamping. Thank You, Brandon
raysouth Report post Posted December 31, 2014 Hello Brandon. Glad to see that you have taken an interest in leatherwork. You will master that which you seek to do and with the assistance from the members here, there is nothing would prevent you from becoming a master of the craft. Great place to be and certain that your wife loves the purse. Nice to have some personal attachment to something, rather than something purchased from China, Pakistan, India, or all of the other mass production places. I can imagine that it is a thrill, to teach and show the world to your children. So many of the children today don't even seem to know the names of the states and must no longer be a school topic. Heard one kid ask if Idaho was a place in India. lol. Well, today ends another year for us. I sincerely hope that you and yours have all the best in the coming year. Live life to the fullest as it is so short, in terms of things we would like to do and learn. God Bless. Ray
papaw Report post Posted December 31, 2014 Ray it is nice to find people like you ( With the knowledge that it is better to give than receive ) it is a very kind act and hopefully as the old saying you will be reward for your kind act.
raysouth Report post Posted December 31, 2014 Hello Pawpaw, Thank you for the kind words. It is, for me, a thrill to be able to share what I have found over the years. All to soon it will be gone. All the good times and fond memories will be as exciting as the hunt was in the past. In addition, I don't want to leave a burden on the shoulders of my beloved so this is a good time to be parting with some of my "goodies". Nothing earth shaking but things I found of interest to me at the time I located/found them. So many interesting things in the world and we pass through life not even aware of many of the items that exist. I love the thrill of discovery and would enjoy doing it all over again. Boring, my life was not. Always filled with some type of activity, no matter what part of the world I was in at the time. I believe I would need several more centuries of life to try everything I can seem to come up with. lol. Again, I truly appreciate your comments and don't forget to sign up before midnight for the fee stuff. Keep in touch and may your New Year be the grandest of all. God Bless. raysouth Report post Posted January 1, 2015 Well, the old year is gone and hope everyone rang in the new with a smile and hopes for a better and more exciting 2015. I want to thank those of you that signed up for the free stuff and looking forward to getting to the shop and digging into things to find something of interest for all of you. Total of 15 folks made the list before midnight. When I have sorted and packed the items, I will send you the postage fee and we can proceed from there. Fun time for me and hopefully will bring a smile when you receive. God Bless All, and may 2015 be the best ever. Ray
MonicaJacobson Report post Posted January 1, 2015 Looking forward to it! Maybe mostly because it's kind of awesome getting something from someone who thought it valuable or interesting enough to collect for themselves.
johnj Report post Posted January 2, 2015 Dang I did it again , a day late and a dollar short. Oh well!
raysouth Report post Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Hello Johnj, Yup, you missed the cutoff but I could be persuaded to make an exception. lol. Send me a list of things that you enjoy collecting, and while digging through my goodies, perhaps I will find something that you would enjoy adding. May have nothing you would like but we have to start somewhere------------- Email me at raysouth1@hotmail.com within next day or so and when I am able to return to the shop I can begin "digging". Don't forget to send a mailing address as well. God Bless. Ray Edited January 2, 2015 by raysouth
cardinal leather Report post Posted January 7, 2015 Ray sent me his steer skull for the postage, mentioned that he had the horns. I bought them for a reasonable price, then he included another set as the free stuff. All arrived in good condition, horns are very nice and I have some plans for them. Thank you Ray, it was a pleasure doing business with you.
