Aidanforsyth0 Report post Posted December 15, 2014 Hi, today I have a question about clicking dies for cutting out leather. If i don't want to shell out a bunch of money for a press, can I just order the clicking dies and hammer them out by putting a board on top of them? Also I'd only be wanting to cut out very simple shapes like the wallets on my website. Thanks guys!
papaw Report post Posted December 15, 2014 You can order clicker die for use with a mallet for the lighter leather just let them know your using a mallet so they can do it right for your use.

Dirt4fun Report post Posted December 26, 2014 I've been thinking about this for a while now. Any suggestions on who to use to get the dies made?
thefanninator Report post Posted December 26, 2014 (edited) I have a die that WAS a mallet die. You could hammer all day and it wouldn't cut through. I was using 8 oz veg tan and the die was approx. 6 x 6" though so it was too big and the leather was too thick. I had it cut and just found someone to click it for me. Find someone close to you to click for you. I used Texas Custom Dies. Edited December 26, 2014 by thefanninator
