MikeDB Report post Posted November 9, 2008 Not knife related but my latest form ye olde workshoppe. A Scrivener or a Scriveners Case. Based on piece from the mid Tudor period. Waterproof cuir boulli designed to keep parchment and pens safe. Possibly of little other than historical value & living history but I think a longer one may be protecting my fly rod next season. Cheers all Mike
MADMAX22 Report post Posted November 9, 2008 Very cool and nice looking, good job. Looks very similer to the fly rod cases in al stohlmans book on building cases, volume 1 i think. Should work out perfectly for that if you decide to do it.

Can you post pictures here to the forum? I would really like to see this one.
UKRay Report post Posted May 20, 2009 I'd like to request the return of the pics as well - this is one of the nicest bits of historical leatherwork I've seen in a long while. How about it Mike? Ray
jana Report post Posted June 16, 2009 If it is possible to get the pictures back, I would be very interested in seeing the original piece. Jana
NoahL Report post Posted June 16, 2009 I would also be interested in this piece, so I certainly hope the images can be restored
MikeDB Report post Posted July 13, 2009 (edited) Hi all, Sorry about the missing pictures. I had a serious pc problem and at the same time managed to delete the contents of my photobucket album hence the lack of posts and missing pictures. I will try to get them restored but the workshop is a tad busy at the moment so it may take a while. Here is one (bad I know) of the scrivener however. Thanks for all the interest. Cheers Mike Edited July 13, 2009 by MikeDB
jana Report post Posted July 14, 2009 Does the case have a secondary piece of leather to make a sleeve inside, to keep the lid on? I recently re-created a case for holding wax tablets in which there was an interior sleeve. Please post more pictures when you can, I find this very interesting. Hi Jana, Yep, it has an inner core/sleeve which the lid slides over. I'm working on re-doing the picture but it's taking a while as my workshop is a tad busy at the moment. Hope these help. jana Report post Posted July 17, 2009 Mike, Thank you for re-posting the pictures you have, it has helped alot. I like to re-create historical pieces and have a list of different items I want to try. I just need to be able to find a use for them after they are done!!
