taintedelephant Report post Posted January 9, 2015 I'm making some templates for straps, and I want to get your opinion before I print them on card stock and laminate them. My biggest concern is the buckle end. I know the spacing of the holes is kind of important to make the buckle lay right. I don't have a 1" buckle right now so that one is based on the assumption that I can do it the same as the others. I'm planning on using a 1/2 inch wide belt keeper w/ these. Your input is greatly appreciated. strap ends.pdf
Troy Burch Report post Posted January 9, 2015 All these appear to be the same except the widith of the strap. Your pattern doesn't show how far apart the holes are or how long the buckle slot. The bigger the buckle the longer the buckle slot will have to be, the tongue holes will be spaced differently depending on what its used for and the size of buckle, the belt keeper width should vary proportionately with the strap width. I don't have exact measurements for you for each size maybe another member can give you better advice. Troy
taintedelephant Report post Posted January 9, 2015 Yes they are all the same, it seams to me that for these smaller sizes these dimensions would work. I can't figure out how to upload a new pdf, but the rivet holes are 3/4" apart, then 3/8" from there to the tongue slot, which is 1/2" wide. Most belt keepers I've seen appear to be made of 1/2" strap, I would make them the right size for the strap I plan to use them on. watch pattern web.pdf I recently made the above watch strap, with a center bar buckle and no keeper. The end of the buckle that acts as a keeper sticks up, this is what I'm trying to avoid, as well as any problems I didn't think of. from now on for wrist type straps, I think I'll just use a regular bridal type buckle instead of the center bar.
