I made one out of hardwood and an unused chopping block. A steel plate is drilled to the point at which the tool meets the arm. It's all about leverage.

I made an efficient stamping press from an old portable electric drill press stand that I bought on ebay for $5. Where the drill normally sits I rigged up an old brace chuck (adjustable for different size stamp handles).
