esantoro Report post Posted November 15, 2008 Anyone have experience with the Toro 2600? I'm thinking it may be my next machine and was wondering if it's small enough to fit inside of a carrying case. Ed

JerryZ Report post Posted November 20, 2008 Hi Ed. By now, most people know of our reputation and sincere ability to solve any stitching issue. Most people should believe that if you called me, Steve, or Dave, we will TRUTHFULLY answer any question anyone might have about any sewing machine ever made. Why not take the Professionals opinion and not someone who may not have all the information necessary to make a good decission or provide you with a correct or more exacting answer to your quirry! Especially about an Artisan product. Of course, we earn our living by selling sewing machinery, but we also are members of the community and we will try to help you with an honest opinion, every time! I only have 41 years experience, and I am the fourth generation in my family to be in the sewing machinery business. Steve has been in the business for almost 37 years and Dave 34 years. We have helped every kind of business to choose the correct stitching machine for their exact requirements. We have set up huge sewing factories of over 1000 sewers down to our kind of people, a one person craftsman who is just starting out. Please phone or e-mail us. We will help you with any issue. The TORO 2500 and TORO 2600 machines are BIG and Heavy. The first one weighs over 120 LBS, the second about 160 LBS. Head only. I don't think that either is very portable. Art Report post Posted November 20, 2008 Hi Ed, It might fit in the trunk of my Lincoln, and while I can probably put it in, I'd need an engine hoist to get it out of the trunk. The only carrying case will probably be the pallet they ship it on. Art Anyone have experience with the Toro 2600? esantoro Report post Posted November 20, 2008 I was thinking that the 2600 might be about 80 lbs, something like one of sailrite's heavier machines, which I think is called the sailmaker. ed
Art Report post Posted November 20, 2008 Hi Ed, That thing ships with a #25 needle (200), it is a big flatbed machine with drop feed and a walking foot system that is adjustable. This ain't no Sailrite. This is more of a fabric machine, maybe for tents and tarps. Remember, it is flat bed not cylinder, so you won't be doing any bags with it. As a portable, where are you going to stick the motor? Art Report post Posted November 21, 2008 Hi Ed, That looks like something Jerry already imports, just with the Sailrite name on it. Call him and talk about it.
