greighson Report post Posted March 18, 2015 I can't seem to find any info on what anvil and setter I need to set these type of button studs and backs from Buckle Guy: http://www.buckleguy.com/b1018-nickel-matte-collar-button-solid-brass-ll-requires-the-back-post-b-1414-sold-separately/

Elliot Report post Posted March 19, 2015 Use the threaded studs much better and faster to mount.
Trevor Report post Posted March 19, 2015 I think you will find that the hammer in studs are actually very strong indeed. I use them and the screw in ones for different purposes and I'm sure there are others that will agree. I have found that the tool used for the "Hose rivets" or those with the burr there is a tool made to round off the end. If you just put the round concave end on the top of the studs and hammer in this will do the trick nicely. Just make sure that the concave end is bigger than the stud end. I did one the other day and I hit it a little hard and the brass plating came off the stud. If anyone needs a picture I will post for you. TheCyberwolfe Report post Posted March 24, 2015 They make an actual setter for those? I just turn 'em upside down on the anvil with a layer of leather under 'em and give 'em a whack. Seems to work out pretty good.
